Comedian Kunal Kamra has unleashed a furious response against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, better known as BeerBiceps, accusing him of “milking” the controversy from his ill-fated appearance on the show India’s Got Latent.

The war of words began when Allahbadia took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a reflective note about how “one incident” had rocked his decade-long career. He also shared a couplet by Sant Kabir, emphasising patience and the slow process of rebuilding after setbacks.

Allahbadia’s post read: “It took me and my team 10 years to build BeerBiceps and The Ranveer Show to where they were. And in one incident, a large part of it was shaken. When the team looked to me for next steps, I found myself going back to Sant Kabir’s doha.”

But Kamra wasn’t having it. His reply was sharp, scathing, and hard-hitting. He wrote: “30+ artists including me were summoned by authorities for being on Latent. The whole comedy fraternity took a hit because of how stupid you’re. Shows were canceled, venues pulled out, judgments made, the pathetic shadow of your stupidity still continues to make lives of funny comedians difficult. You didn’t even care to understand that side. Stop pretending to be the nice guy you’re not. Take your cheque’s, lower your gaze & be very ashamed. You’re a contraceptive for creativity, stop milking this & go back to what you do best which is being a hurdle for upward social change while FraudCasting & clout chasing…”

The tension goes back to February 2025. Allahbadia appeared on a controversial episode of India’s Got Latent alongside Ashish Chanchlani and influencer Apoorva Mukhija. The episode featured a “would you rather” segment that took a shocking turn when Allahbadia asked a contestant a question involving his parents and sexual intimacy.

While panel laughed at the moment, the clip went viral instantly. It triggered public outrage over its “perverted” and “obscene” content.

The backlash was swift and widespread. Multiple FIRs were filed across several states. Social media erupted with condemnation and the comedy community faced real-world consequences.

Several comedians, including Kamra, were summoned by authorities, shows were canceled, and venues canceled bookings. The ripple effect reportedly made it harder for comedians across the country to perform freely.

Allahbadia later issued a public apology, admitting a “lapse in judgment” and confessing that “comedy is not my forte.”
